Taking notes from the indie-dance and French electro pop movements of the early 2010’s, Pigeons & Planes “Best New Artist” alt-pop disruptor, Groupthink is blending genres in a way that feels current and fresh while nostalgic.
Mixing palettes of French electro indie dance and punk, the result is a sonic gestalt of childhood memories that have been compressed into the present day. It feels good, it feels bad, it feels everything at the same time.
More recently starting a new era in their sound with “Gold On Me” featuring ABRA, “Talk Sexy” and “Not like you”, Groupthink continues to push the sound forward while venturing outside his immediate artist project producing for other artists. Featuring new creative worldbuilding from Groupthink as well as visuals from creative director Jimmy Regular, the latest 5-track EP titled Alpha beta, including previously released singles “Talk Sexy” and “Not like you”, was released May 23rd – a sexy, edgy, fun, high fashion, artist forward, culture moving club project that showcases a brand new side of multihyphenate Groupthink. All 5 tracks on the EP are a testament to Groupthink’s prowess as a tasteful, exciting producer and insightful songwriter.
